One of the more important and specialized divisions of the Bangladesh Police is the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). It is the highest crime investigative body of the Bangladesh government and police. The primary duty of CID is to investigate scheduled cases that are recommended by laws and cases that are ordered by courts. CID has been working on three main mandates, including smart investigation, forensic and allied support, and training for the capacity development of its human resources, to serve the people of the nation. Because of a string of effective operations and countermeasures against various crimes, including organized crime, financial crime, cybercrime, and other base offenses as listed in the Money Laundering Prevention Rules (MLPR) 2019, CID has gained the trust of the public over the past few years. The CID squad has zero tolerance for these kinds of crimes and transgressions. In recent statistics, it has been found that the rate of Online-based Criminal activities has been increasing day by day. Hence, people are advised not to get into a trap of such greed and before investing in any online business should verify or seek help from CID. Moreover, a group of people are becoming the victim of human trafficking. In the name of foreign jobs, poor people sell their all property like land and other assets. So far this illegal human trafficking is organized by a gang and such gangs take them captive and start torturing them to bring more money from their families. To control illegal human trafficking and to help innocent people in this regard the THB cell of CID is working seriously. People are encouraged to contact the THB hotline numbers before getting into such traps. Therefore, there will be no pity for those who deceive and take advantage of others by harming them with ransomware, malware, cheating, or other forms of cybercrime. Similarly, the Cyber Crime Monitoring unit inspires people to contact them for any kind of cyber-related crime e.g. eve teasing, propaganda, bullying etc. Particularly the Financial Crime unit likes to welcome people for any kind of support and service before getting into the trap of financial crime. Since CID is devoted to preventing and controlling all forms of criminal activity, it tries to educate the public to consider their options before making investments. People are urged not to invest or conduct financial transactions until after careful and thorough confirmation, and they may always call the hotline numbers of CID if they have any questions.
